I so enjoyed painting my last collection of woodland creatures, that I thought I’d try my hand at some more.
Two of the paintings are of little ground animals, viz. the hedgehog and the mouse. Both of these are placed in their environments with autumn leaves and toadstools as a backdrop. These shades of oranges, green, browns, reds and yellows are wonderful to paint with, and they evoke feelings of change, warmth, and hibernation.
The final painting is of a forest deer. It is both wonderful and frustrating to me that you only usually catch a glimpse of forest animals. They are skittish and run away and hide at the slightest movement, but that is all a part of the magic and mystery of forests.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed painting them.
